In July, Ms. Kulchynska makes her highly awaited debut at the Salzburger Festspiele and her role debut as Cleopatra in Handel’s Giulio Cesare in Egitto. A new production directed by Dmitri Tcherniakov and conducted by Emmanuelle Haïm, she joins Christophe Dumaux in the title role, Lucile Richardot as Cornelia, Federico Fiorio as Sesto, Yuriy Mynenko as Tolomeo, Andrey Zhilikhovsky as Achilla, and Jake Ingbar as Nireno. Known for the diversity of her repertoire, Ms. Kulchynska in thrilled to take on this new challenge at the end of her season that included Susanna at the Metropolitan Opera, her role debut as Fiordiligi at the Bayerische Staatsoper, Mathilde in Wilhelm Tell at Opéra de Lausanne, and Mimi in La Bohème at the Royal Opera House.
Performances will take place on July 26, 29 and August 3, 6, 11, 14, and 17.
